Vertical boards stained black, one wide glazed door to the garden and the lawn running right up to the walls.

  Single-storey house in black timber

•

A new oak stair, an opened-up ground floor and insulation from roof to floor.

  Renovation

  Terraced house, full renovation

•

Two wide new openings in the old brick, so the ground floor looks out over the garden.

Brick house, opened up to the garden

•

A kitchen under the sloping roof, with roof windows, tall wooden cupboards and a stone-topped island.

  Renovation

  Open kitchen under the roof

•

The back wall opened up, the kitchen moved into the new room, and glazed doors lead out to the terrace.

  Extension

  Semi-detached house, rear extension

•

The old brick wall kept inside, timber beams overhead and folding glass doors to a walled courtyard.

  Extension

  Garden room with folding doors

•

All-black panels laid across every roof, with the roof windows left free between them.

  Sustainable upgrade

  Terraced houses with solar roofs

•

Roof, floor and cavity walls insulated, then a heat pump, balanced ventilation and solar panels, all in one job.

  Sustainable upgrade

  Family home, now gas-free

•

During the work: old solid walls insulated on the inside before the new inner walls go up.
